Correction corner
If you find a mistake on our site (and there are bound to be a few), don’t keep it to yourself! Please let us know and we’ll correct it. So, whether its a (non-deliberate) missing or extra ap’ostrophe, a Miss Pelling, a spurious capital letTer, an otiose extra word word reiterated time and time again, or a factual terror, please tell us here and (if you wish), we’ll add your name to the Proofreaders’ Roll of Honour below:

Spelling note: it’s all Greek to uz!
On this site, you’ll notice that we spell words like ‘recognize’, ‘organize’, ‘sympathize’ and ‘utilize’ with a z. This is the first spelling given in British dictionaries for words derived from the Greek zeta root — it’s not necessarily the American spelling! If you prefer to use s in your own writing, this will never be wrong except in ‘capsize’. When we’re editing other people’s writing, we’ll follow their preference - which in the UK is usually -ise. Our choice is a bit quirky, but humour us.
Words or figures?
To be consistent between our brochure and website, we’re now using figures for all numbers in text unless the number appears at the start of a sentence or is ‘one’. Of course, when editing other people’s writing, we’ll follow their preference, which is usually one to nine in words and 10+ in figures.
